Everest was rescued from a religious ritual in Brooklyn, NY, September 2018. He is a Cornish mix breed, and was brought into the world to be used for “meat.” This breed is bred to grow very large very fast. At PEAK, we will keep him on a strict diet and allow him plenty of room for exercise to try to counter his genetics as much as possible. Everest came to PEAK with four other birds who were also rescued from the ritual. The moment they arrived and we sat them in their coop, they all started dust bathing, the first one in their lives. It was beautiful! They now enjoy Freedom! Everest and his pals are now members of The Freedom Seven Flock. Everest is independent, he is usually the last one to arrive on the scene because he is doing his “own thing”. He is sweet and inquisitive but does not like to be picked up.
