Looking for a unique way to ring in the new year?
Uplands PEAK Sanctuary is hosting an old-fashioned telethon—albeit virtual–devoted to all things vegan on December 31 from 9 a.m. to midnight (Eastern Time). A blockbuster list of vegan experts will be highlighting each hour with creative performances, educational lectures, or crafty tutorials to help raise funds for Uplands PEAK’s residents. In between, we’ll have mini check-ins from PEAK!
The grand finale welcomes Honey LaBronx, the Vegan Drag Queen, to celebrate our last hour of 2020 and share the final countdown (we’ll pause so you can sing Europe’s song) to 2021 in the most fabulous way!
We’re just so excited to share the entire day with you!
Viewers will also have chances during the telethon to purchase tickets to watch a special viewing of The Last Pig, an award-winning documentary about a pig farmer’s ethical crisis, on January 1 between 12 and 4 p.m. This brand-new documentary cannot be seen anywhere else right now, so think of it like a red-carpet premiere… but even better, from your couch! Tickets will be $10, half of which will be donated to Uplands PEAK Sanctuary.
In true telethon style, PEAK will have a big ole thermometer to track the excitement for the $10K goal! If you donate $50 or more at bye2020.org (no joke, click on it!) you will automatically become a 2021 PEAK Member (which includes perks like free admission to PEAK, 10% off anything in PEAK’s store, and the eligibility to book the Retreat Suite or PEAK’s eco-friendly cabin). Other donations can be made through Facebook or at uplandspeaksanctuary.org.
PEAK is grateful to its generous sponsors for helping make this telethon a success. Be sure to check out the segments they’re supporting, because they’ll be matching a portion of the donations to help hosts kick off their hour:
